NOTHING TO REPORT TODAY

It was such a beautiful day today, I decided not to think. It worked out pretty well, much better than expected. I was about a block away from the Empire State Building on Sunday morning, and it looked stunning. The weather was unbelievably sunny and pleasant for October, full of that bracing, clean Autumn air. There were tourists all over the place, including around 15 firefighters from Italy who were for some reason wearing their firefighting gear as they strolled along 5th Avenue. Having made the conscious decision not to think, I didn't ask why. There was probably an interesting story behind this, but I'll never know. My mind had the day off. Today was simply a day to absorb the sights and sounds and there were plenty enough to keep me satisfied, and a wonderful feeling of the sun on my face. I was in Manhattan and the world was perfect.
