IGNORING THE OBVIOUS

Doesn't it seem that we spend a lot of time admiring the emperor's new clothes lately? Where's that little kid to remind us the emperor is really naked when you need him? Take these Olympic Games in Beijing, China, for example. The air is so polluted there that the equestrian events have been moved to Hong Kong. So, just so we're clear in our minds about this, the air is okay for people but too noxious for horses? Some set of priorities, eh? And then the Chinese government and the Olympic committee gets a hair stuck when the U.S. cycling team gets off the plane with protective masks over their mouths and noses. What's the point of pretending something's okay when everybody knows it isn't? To preserve who's feelings? The thugs who run China? Please!

Then some nut job murders an American tourist and stabs his wife and their Chinese guide before taking a nose dive off a tower and the media can't mention enough how rare are murders in China. What, the Chinese government doesn't tolerate competition? And how would the media know what the murder rate is in China? This is the same government trying to convince everybody that yellow air is normal. Why would anybody believe anything they say? For all anybody knows, murdering tourists could be a popular hobby there. This latest Chinese Dynasty lies as a matter of official policy, so who would buy any statistics they provide? The answer to that one is corporate media conglomerates protecting their huge investment in this Olympic farce at the expense of the truth. Screw them too.

Tyrants and oppressors always like to pull out the cultural diversity card to justify outrageously bad behavior, like their culture was so unique that it cannot be judged by universal standards of right and wrong. The hell with that! They're not everybody's government, just the poor souls who live under assholes like that, and those people depend on the rest of the world to give them the voice denied them in these Goonacracies. The Chinese government has plenty of company in the cruel oppressor department, what with most the Muslim world's governments making Atilla the Hun seem like Gandhi by comparison. Enslaving half your citizens for the crime of being female and interfering with your lust for young boys is hardly something you can expect to be accepted without comment by the rest of the world. It's not like they're a good friend wearing a bad toupee or anything like that.

Why should anyone pretend these things are okay? For Arabia's oil? For China's cheap labor? It's not like they have a different planet to sell it to, only this one, the one in which they must live with everybody else. Call a spade a spade and let them deal with it. Bad enough we have to buy their goods. Don't let them dictate what we have to say too. Nobody in the West gives much of a crap about all their ranting and raving about what decadent infidels we are. We know that the vast majority of their citizens would trade places with any of us in a second. Why pretend otherwise? But we seem to give lots of jokers a pass for their transparently evil behavior. Religions are a prime example.

What is organized religion but an attempt to control people's lives? Take Judaism for example, with all their built-in racist and exclusionary policies like their silly dietary laws and intermarriage restrictions that are obviously designed to separate themselves from the rest of humanity. But you tell yourself this is the will of God and then this intolerance is okay? With who? Or Christianity, with it's burden of centuries of oppression and genocide and their own dirty little history of man-boy sexual relationships. Makes you wonder if they've ever actually read the Gospels of Jesus Christ with his simple and beautiful message of peace, love, brotherhood, responsibility and tolerance. And Islam? Just as big a sad joke on humanity as the rest of them and also quite heavy on the preaching of hatred, intolerance, persecution and murder.

But these are all religions, you see, and therefor above criticism. And they get out of paying taxes too. How sweet is that? And when you combine religion with government you pretty much get what you pay for, a backward xenophobic culture that will stomp on your human rights and begin to rot in its tracks from the get-go wile the rest of the world makes progress. And they all demand the understanding and the free pass for their sins they refuse to grant anyone else. It doesn't work that way. You get what you give. Either you're a part of the whole of humanity or you're not. And if you choose to set yourself alone and above, well, enjoy your delusions but don't expect the rest of us to share them or let them go unmentioned. Sorry, but the emperor is still buck naked, an not so attractive in the buff, either. Hand that sad sack a robe or something before the rest of us puke.

But lately it seems we've given up on a lot of these impenetrable clods and exercise our curiosity elsewhere. We don't question what is obviously monstrous and frightening in this world, yet we grill narcissistic and shallow celebrities about every aspect of their dysfunctional lives, even take these bozos seriously from time to time with their idiotic Christian Scientist and Kabbalah cults. Where are our priorities? But at least some of these celebrity whack jobs point out the glaringly obvious fact that 36,000 people die every single day from starvation on this supposedly religious planet while untold trillions of dollars is spent on armaments every year to increase that death toll considerably. Where's all that looking out for your brother all their religious field manuals mention? Where's the charity? Where's the love? Where's the peace? Perhaps we should ask the Chinese government. Anybody who can explain away yellow air with a straight face has to have a lot of answers.
